Building A Stronger Nigeria: The Power of Unity and Collaboration

The recent presidential election held in Nigeria in February 2023 was marked by a plethora of colourful events and dramatic occurrences involving political parties and their supporters. Individuals from various works of life, including the young and old, the literate and illiterate, professionals and non-professionals, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and artisans, all actively participated in the electoral process.

While it is understandable that everyone has the right to express their opinions and support their preferred candidate, it is expected that we maintain a certain level of respect and decorum throughout the process. It is disheartening to witness instances where individuals engage in insults, jeopardize friendships, engage in cyberbullying, and exhibit abusive behaviour towards one another.

During a reflective moment on my early morning walk, it dawned upon me that regardless of our affiliations—whether we are supporters of the “Obident,” “Atikulated,” “Batified,” or any other faction—we all share a common desire for a better Nigeria. We yearn for a nation where things function smoothly and effectively.

To see our collective vision of a better Nigeria materialize, it is imperative that each and every one of us acknowledges our significant role in the process. The energy and enthusiasm that were directed towards the election should not dissipate but rather be channelled towards the pursuit of making Nigeria great again.

Therefore, I submit that we all commit ourselves to working towards a better nation in our own unique ways. It is essential to maintain a positive outlook and refrain from speaking ill of our country. Being a responsible and exemplary citizen entails abiding by the rules and laws of the land.

By embracing our individual responsibilities and exhibiting good citizenship, we can contribute to the overall development and progress of Nigeria. Let us focus on unity, constructive dialogue, and collaboration to create a positive impact within our communities and the nation as a whole. Together, we can strive for the Nigeria we envision—a nation that thrives and prospers.

God Bless You.

God Bless Nigeria.
